OWC arrived today in perfect condition, no damage. Packing was top notch, and the OWC was thicker and more solid than years past.

The Mag and 3L are tough to consider on a music teacher's budget. I wonder how many folks will pass on those in an off but controversial, lower production vintage. Any Hong Kong collectors biting? I've got mine up on the Commerce Corner. $5k per 3L is a tough consideration on an NBA player's budget...

Last year I was third wave, picked up a 3 bottle allocation and a cracked OWC. Hoping for 2nd wave and an intact OWC this year.

3L of scarecrow is tempting, but 5 G's sure does buy a lot of other wine. Wonder if it will even be an option when I get my allotment.

The wine buyer from pentagon city's ears must've been burning because they got a bunch of nice french and italian wines in the store this week as well as mouton ($599) and lafite ($699).

The Pentagon City store never has anything of interest. I don't understand it; the DC area is one of the best wine markets in the country. 09 Dom last time I was there, but so far as I know they have never had the 08. And the rest of the stuff they have is mass market Ya, usually things arrive late...

Mine arrived today as well. Looked fine from the top (like yours) but the bottom had one board broken. Not a big deal I guess.

My owc arrived with a chip on the front upper corner and a small quarter sized dent/scratch looking imprint on the lid. Everything else seems ok though. I thought this wood was supposed to smell better? It doesn’t smell like anything to me lol How damaged was the packaging on the outside and inside...

Those top "bottle neck" holders are generally pretty thin, so not surprised it broke, but still...

If I had been given the chance to buy two 3-packs, I probably would’ve succumbed to temptation and popped the cork on one to take it for a test drive. But since only three are showing up tomorrow, they will all be taking a nice long nap in the back of the cellar for the next 3-5 years at a minimum....

I got an e-mail from them saying they switched to a more expensive packaging this year, but it didn't function well with the styro (or whatever that stuff is) that holds it in place during shipping. They will ship new boxes but are asking that if we want the vintage tag to transfer that ourselves. ...
