Re: SF Bay Area/Peninsula OL March 9 and 24

I liked Alan's $50 (or $30) and under idea. It could allow us to focus on some non-Burgundy/Bordeaux/Rhone and more unusual varietals, that we wouldn't normally bring. But whatever....

Re: San Francisco Jan 13/14

What a fun evening! Rich, thanks for planning. Great choice on restaurant. Good to meet some new folks... Herwig, Eric. Leonard, I didn't get to chat with you... maybe next time. I think the gauntlet has been thrown down. Time for a themed blind tasting.

I have a '87 Montelena cab to bring. Someone needs to represent Napa. Hmm, I may also bring an '02 Peay Syrah.

Shoot, I missed this yesterday. Gene, I can make it, but no problem if you’ve already confirmed the headcount.

Unfortunately, I’m out. Dealing with a summer cold, and I don’t think my olfactory receptors will be back on the job.

I will match Wes' '64 Barolo with a '64 Rioja (ignoring the Italian theme here...)

Re: SF Bay Area/Peninsula OL - Oct

George is doing the Williams Selyem thing on the 23rd, so maybe better on the 15th? Is the 29th an option?

It'll be a small group, so we'll have the chance to really ponder some wines. I'm thinking of bringing a '96 Montrose. Any thoughts as to whether that's too young still?

Just a reminder to bring stems (you'll want them) and cash. Also, to be clear, this is Kabul in San Carlos, close to the Holly Street exit.
See you all tomorrow...

The 25th works for me. Dan, please add me to the list.
As Dan mentioned, Kabul seems really accommodating, and easy to book on short notice. Lots of good kebab options. Maybe for a future dinner.
We've been to Iberia, and that would also be a good choice sometime.

Indeed, I'm in! Is the menu for this likely to be all raw fish, or we will see some cooked fish and non-fish dishes? My wife and I have been going to Yuzu for years but pretty much stick to sushi when we go.
