TN: 2013 Chezeaux (Ponsot) Chambolle Charmesb1er

From a stash I grabbed from FWGS closeout for ~70. Very serious wine. Dark garnet in the glass. Initially reticent with wild aromatics and dark fruits. Nice acidity. Opened up after an hour or so and had very nice palate presence and a nice finish. Currants and some cassis notes. Very nice wine, cou...

I'm a fan of all of the lopez wines, but the 06 is pretty underrated. I picked up a bunch of half bottles. They still have full bottles of the 07 (much better vintage) for 32.

I agree, just grabbed a 6 pack of 2010 Nicholas Rossignol Chevrets from Benchmark for $75 a pop, 6 left if anyone is interested. Personally I think 2010 is underrated. Of course, everyone loves it, but it may well be the greatest vintage of my lifetime, and I am not sure it is being recognized as su...

I just don’t know what the typical aging curve for modernist Barolo is; the tannins were smooth and integrated and there were still lovely aromatics; my guess is that it could improve but not sure by how much. One bottle left.

This is quite a serious wine, and delicious. As long as one doesn't expect DRC, it's very nice. Beautiful nose, surprising heft and complexity on the palate, and nice finish. This will be better with some time in the cellar but is nice now.
