Scotch/Bourbon has definitely affected my wine purchasing.
$50 on a wine bottle that lasts 1 day or scotch that I can sample for months (or years)?

To be fair, they do have experience in the area (the '13 Cairdeas was a portwood, and was pretty well received).

I liked their Fino (the '18 version) as well.

Slight thread drift ... part of any whisky journey has to be learning the effect of a little water, and Laphroaig 10 is a fairly dramatic example. For those of you in SoCal, HiTime has a sale on Patron Barrel Select: $29 for Reposado, $31 for Anejo. I know not everyone is a fan of Patron, but still, pretty good deal for a well made & clean product.

Best tequilas out there IMO: Fortaleza G4 Arte Nom Tequila Ocho All will blow you away. If you want the easiest pure sipper, go with the anejo. The reposados are all amazing as well. So, the same guy apparently makes G4 Pasote Terralta ArteNom all in the same facility, with the only difference bein...
