2017 Quivet Release?

Got the save the date today. Anyone try these yet? Only have seen 1 CT note. Jeb Dunnicks early reviews looked as good as the 2016s so that was slightly surprising considering the vintage differences.

CJ. This steakhouse is the most expensive in ATL. It is so hard to get out without serious financial damage. They had Heitz brand new releases for about $250. Clarets were expensive too. Not sure what the price elasticity is on wine but that’d dictate things a bit. I’d imagine it could be doable once the dust of the release settles. If you don’t sell on first release for say 3 months and have more than projected inventory it’d be a diff way of doing it where it’d be more of a haggl...

I’d actually drink more if it had zero alcohol on it and everything else was kept equal. Lower the calories to 0 and I’d drink even more.

Even though the wines I'm sure are exceptional, I personally think the reviews on Cellar Tracker were slightly disappointing when compared to the 2016s, both taking into account the heat spikes (not concerned about smoke overall) in 2017, as well as the $20 price increase for the O.G. and La Verdad...

It actually does seem like more wineries are getting into this space. I cannot imagine they've done that without some level of financial modeling to predict the sales impact. I do notice a significant difference in the $175 wines vs the $75 wines so I still buy both. It does get to a point of diminishing returns though. 2016 Bevan Wildfoote is massive as is 2016 Purlieu Tuecer. If you want jumbo fruit, those two will be good.
