Not as good as a ribeye .... IMO. However, I’ve had a several Flannery dry-aged NY strips, and I enjoyed them more than expected. I would lean toward other cuts at a restaurant, though, unless that’s their specialty.

A delicious Holy Grail prime ribeye on the Weber over lump charcoal. Sadly, the outdoor grilling season is winding down in Chicagoland. Went very well with a ‘15 Bedrock Heritage.

2015 Bedrock Heritage ... yes, I know it’s relatively young, but I have more ‘15s than ‘14s and 2 of these. The brambly (sp) old vines, spice, and acidity paired very well with a Holy Grail prime ribeye on the grill.

I should’ve bought more of that kamado joe charcoal; it’s great. Almost too good. Some of the chunks were so big that I had to break them down using the side of my charcoal chimney, resulting in a dented chimney :) Bag #3 reinforces my previous statement - Royal Oak has gone from the best QPR charc...

First Holy Grail American Wagyu ribeye ... very delicious on the Weber. The 2015 Bedrock Ode to Lucien paired very nicely with the HG ribeye, too.

2015 Ode to Lucien ... 75% Mataro and just a wonderful long finish and classic Bedrock spice and acidity. Paired nicely with a Holy Grail ribeye.

Thanks all for the recommendations ... there are some good suggestions above. I have bought some cab from Bedrock and Carlisle, when available, just haven’t tried it yet. I also pick up quite a bit of syrah and petite sirah from the likes of Bedrock, Carlisle, and Turley, which I really enjoy, too. ...
