I have 11 bottles of Francois Cotat from vintages ranging from 2004-2007. Various vineyard designates. I probably should open one and see how they are doing. Thanks for the notes.

Re: Cayuse Weekend

We arrived at Cayuse right at 10:00 and there was already a line to get in. But Christophe was outside with a glass of rose and entertaining the crowd. So far my best discovery was Revelry. Their Aerial Series Block 18 Syrah 2014 is just amazing. The new winery building is impressive. Their rose is ...

Too Many Wooden Boxes?

A current thread on wooden boxes prompted me to ask. Are you getting too many? I love them but it seems like my buying is producing a lot more than I used to get. It's to the point where I just have no more room to stack them in my wine room. Is there a market for the empties? They are so cool that ...

Interesting article. Early in my wine obsession I visited Cline Cellars and picked up this bottle which I still have today: https://pix.sfly.com/fSTYXS (Sorry, I don't know how to post pictures without a link). I am sure it is probably gone by now but I can't part with it. At the time it was a very ...

The weather is bad here, and the forecast is for more of the same. I agree with Kirk. These are very much in the style of Cayuse with the funk that comes from the Rocks District. They are mineral driven and not the fruity style of some Cali syrahs. I have found that in my circle people love them or they don't. I think they are more like Northern Rhone. I love them.
