I agree. For me, it seemed a bit lighter than most of their previous offerings. Didn’t pick up any oxidized type notes I often get with Krug.

I actually had a ‘17 Donjon last week at a tasting. I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was at such a young age. I was actually given the bottle to take home and even after being re-corked and opened 24hrs later, it was still powering through nicely and if anything, gained more structure.

Does anyone know when their tasting room will be up and running? Last I heard, they were hoping for the new winery to be functioning around harvest of this year. Not sure if they are still on track and if a visit/tasting room option will be available shortly after.

I’d put Seavey towards the top of that list. Views, wines and people are top notch. Definitely made in a more old school/restrained style for Napa Cabernet, and when we were there in February, we were able to taste some late ‘90s Cabernets and early ‘00s merlots. Julio is a great host.

Bud, no, we were actually supposed to taste with Tanner but he got tied up and wasn’t able to host us. Another gentleman took great care of us, but his name escapes me at the moment. Pretty fun to try a Pritchard Hill Nebbiolo! I plan to do a side by side with Cimarossa’s Howell Mountain Nebbiolo.
