Who were your wine mentors?

Tim from K&D hired me with no experience because I grew up two towns over from him in NH. Taught me a lot of the basics and the way around the business.

Then I worked at Del Posto directly under Jeff Porter and he taught me about really, really fine wine.

I just had Kelley Fox come by my workplace and taste us on her wines and they are some of the most interesting Oregon Pinots I have ever encounter. She definitely operates under her own set of rules..

Hey guys, I appreciated everyone's enthusiastic response to my last offering! I hope some of you are able to find something in this selection you like. This is from a private collector we have bought and sold with for many years. Sassicaia 1990 - 5 bottles available for $440/per Sassicaia 1988 - 5 b...

Small Mixed Cellar Offering

Hello everyone, I work in the buying department at the Wine Cellarage in NYC and we are excited to be able to offer this small but incredibly interesting and rare collection of wines. The current owner recently inherited all of these bottles, which were stored for years in a secluded, passive cellar...

Canalicchio di Sopra and Valdicava Pre-Arrival. 2012's are getting some serious hype from Galloni, Suckling and quite a few others. This was the first Syrah from our Marier Vineyard. Hermitage clones planted on extremely steep slopes(40 degree grade) at high elevation. Glad you enjoyed this. We will be adding this wine in one of our Syrah Packs on berserker day..;-) I just had the 2011 Cabot Syrah last night. It was my first Ca...

I've had it and we sell it where I work. It's okay. Surprisingly well selling for what it is. Easily the heaviest bottle I have ever handled. 750 feels like a magnum. It comes with an individual bamboo wooden box that seems to be a real selling point for the people buying it... http://drinks.world/w...

It was actually just a few weeks ago on Thanksgiving. Sub-$30 Cellar Worthy Wines From Around the World

Maybe think about adding Tuscany. There are some high quality Rossos out there from some respectable producers (Valdicava, Biondo Santi, etc). Depending on where you're buying from and what vintage they can be found for around the $30 mark.

1987 Podere Il Palazzino Chianti Classico Riserva

Birth year wine. It was pretty cheap on wine bid and a little past it's prime but it was more of a symbolic thing. Birth year wine on the night of the fall of the republic..ya know, poetic and stuff.

It's not a "wine bar" precisely but posting up at the bar at Pearl and Ash is a very solid option +1 +2 on this, and I think Rebelle (next door to P&A) has some kind of wine bar scene too--at least there were people at the bar when we went for dinner. Their wine list is very impressive... Yeah, Reb...

You would have to keep it one for one. Otherwise you're releasing 3 bottles and getting 6 in return.

Though I've never seen it done in NYC, I believe you can have it on an upper level. You ARE required to have a storefront (visible, stocked shelves). And you can't be within 200 feet of the entrance of a school or church.

Hi Mark, Seems HomeDepot (& other outlets) stock a "Wine Cube" or "Cube Wine Rack", sized up to 60-cms each way with, instead of bottle slots, 2 cross panels that fit diagonally. I just opened a 1987 last week that I got from WineBid. Kind of on the down slide but I certainly wasn't mad paying $35 for it.
