It was a bit pricey to ship four bottles and six splits to San Diego, but 2-5-10 years down the line, when I pop that cork, I’m certain that it’ll be all worth it.

Noticed that there was no mention of Billecart.

I am a novice when it comes to champagne, but I have always enjoyed their rose, and had a 2002 reserve that was wonderful.

Whats the general reputation on them? Do they possess a decent QPR? Also, any word on them releasing a 2008 vintage?

I’ve done it dozens and dozens of times, never had an issue (knock on wood). If a restaurant ever denied me drinking the bottle, I would laugh, walk out, and never ever go back.

Can’t speak for the 2017 Kata/Realm, but we are currently 2/3rds through a 2016 and it is delicious. Vibrant fruit, balanced, structured, with refined tannins. This is a great wine now, and will be better in 5 years without a doubt:

Agreed, the '16 Farella is delicious. I picked up some '16 Realm Farella at auction the other day, and it will be cool to compare these two bottlings with a side by side a couple years down the road.

FM wines, for my palate (modern styled Napa without overblown and super extracted quality) is among the best wines out there. My favorite single vineyard is Las Piedras, and Benoit makes an exceptional wine from that site. That being said, I will be passing on 17’s as I went fairly big on their 16’s...

I was at a Memento Mori wine dinner in April and I asked Sam about this project. His eyes lit up and he said it was tasty wine.

I love what he does with MM, so I’m excited to see what he can do with some hillside Oakville grapes...
