Re: 2018 Ridge Monte Bello futures offer

I just joined this year and haven't been offered the Monte Bello yet. Perhaps because I'm brand new and yields appear to be down in 2018, they will wait until May to let me know. Any risk of not getting an allocation at all? I joined Jan 2017 and I'm in the camp that needs to wait til May to hear. ...

Re: Eating and Drinking in Los Angeles

@bryan c: That sounds like an awful experience at Vespertine! I have read mixed reviews and gather that the chef doesn't really want you to know what you are eating (and drinking), preferring that guests just focus on the tasting. Maybe a case of art over pleasure. By contrast, at Somni, the somm a...

Re: Eating and Drinking in Los Angeles

I went to Dialogue in the winter of 2017 and did not find the meal as assaulting on the palate as described above. Perhaps they have tried to push things more with the more recent menus? I also thought the wine pairing was pretty decent (mostly traditional regions and wines), and probably a better ...

Re: When Will 2008 Cristal And 2008 Dom Perignon Be Released?

That cristal must’ve sold out super fast, I didn’t see it and I looked right after the email went out. Snagged a mag of 164 for about $300 hmm, I got the email around 3:30pm and put in my order for '08 Cristals (at least a few 6pk OCs left) around 4:10pm. But when I tried to put in another order ma...

Re: When Will 2008 Cristal And 2008 Dom Perignon Be Released?

Dom - Looks like the normal '08 is at K&L. Was $170 (see wine-searcher cached price), now listed as $180.

Cristal - HDH's 15% sale - nabbed some for $203, but it sold out fairly quickly (~1 hr?) after the email went out.
