Very nice! What was the 1964 vintage like? Don’t think I know anything about the 1960s vintages from my reading.

2016 Monte Rosso Zin. Today is day 2, after spending several hours decanting yesterday. Still super unyielding and shut down, just some faint notes of tart cherries, iron, black pepper, and baking spice.

I’ve really been digging this beer the last couple of weeks. Definitely a top 5 beer of the year for me.

I started mine with a 2018 Goodfellow Durant chardonnay. So so good. A little less matchstick reduction than the 2017 but I enjoy it more for its general balance and the purity of the fruit. Flavors of lemon peel, tart green apple, lime leaf, kiwi, and papaya complement wet rocks on the nose and pal...

Our daughter used to work for Ravenswood and brought a magnum of 1993 Old Hill (Sonoma Valley) Zin. As far as I know it’s been stored correctly and should be a treat. I wasn’t really following the post about Joel Peterson’s library sale. If anyone has had this wine lately I’d really appreciate some...

Thanks for the note Matt. What other 20+ year agers have you had? My oldest so far is a 1993 Domaine Serene Evanstad Reserve that I opened earlier this year. It was fabulous and fully mature, but still has time. I have one bottle left, not sure when I may open it.

With a number of 2015 German rieslings in our collection, some which will be ready for our 10th wedding anniversary, it's tough to choose. I might have to go with a 2015 JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett because it's the only 2015 riesling I have in magnum format, but that may not be ready.
