2012 Aubry Ivoire et Ebene. Had a bottle of this last year, this year is a little more shut down but still has a nice streak of acidity and chalky minerality.

I’ll be overdoing it this vintage as well, as price creep has me concerned as well. I’m worried some of my favorites may get too expensive in the near future (Willi Schaefer, and even JJ Prum come to mind) and others that are bargains right now, especially on the kabinett level, will start to rise.

Maybe it's my perception, but when I get notes of tobacco leaf (vs. cigar box) it has a sweet quality to it. Is that just from the oak or can there be other influences?

I did a Google search on this, and several sources mention the sweet tobacco leaf note may be just pyrazine character and more from just Cabernet Sauvignon not achieving full ripeness. If that's the case, why do I not pick it up with CA cabernet in which the winemaker isn't picking to make super rip...

I have a few bottles of 2015 Rocks & Gravel and 2016 El Jaleo stashed away, and have bought single bottles of much older wines from his library release last year which truly were excellent. Would love to have more in my cellar.
