Re: Post your CELLAR PIC time…..

Any of you guys have cellars with a good number of talk riesling bottles? How do those fit in the typical Bordeaux bottle racks? Is double racking even possible? At some point once I’ve bought a home I’ll want to design a cellar that can accommodate my rieslings.

TNs: Back vintage Edmunds St. John

Going through some more wines I purchase with Steve’s most recent cellar sale. Still in awe of how well his wines age. 1993 Edmunds St. John Zinfandel Amador County I think we opened this bottle at the perfect time. Lovely perfume of raspberries, cherry liquor, plum, chocolate, cinnamon, and espress...

2017 Weingut Battenfeld-Spanier Molsheim Riesling trocken Great value dry riesling. Nose is more complex than I was expecting, initially with ripe pear and green apple notes then evolving into grapefruit and a touch of citrus. Opened the 2017 Pato last night. Two hour decant. Reminds me of the Weill O'Way Mixed Blacks but with more savory character and a more polished mouthfeel overall. Black fruits, black pepper, espresso, smoke, a little meat, purple flowers, and dried herbs.
