I’ve had this wine handful of times in the last two or three years and agree. The first ones that I had were phenomenal. -The last six pack was ho-hum at best. Unfortunately I did not track the disgorgement dates.

I’ve got another six inbound and I’m hoping they outperform the last.

Total Wine has been solid for 2015 and 2016 vintages. However, they don't ship OWC. Also, to have shipped in CA, you must select the Arden (Sacramento) store. 2008 Dom Perignon has landed in WI stores. The Appleton store got 4 6-packs yesterday. When I left they still had 3. $139.99/bottle, but I’m sure they’ll raise it. 06 and 09 still on the shelf st the same price.

Not only on aged wine. I purchased a new release recently that I think they DI’d. Wickedly corked. They refunded their profit on the bottle, somewhere around 20%.

I don’t think they’re hiding it, it is their policy.

Definitely all ATP wines. Of those I recall enjoying the 2011 Lytton Syrah/Grenache the most. ATP wines aren't hard to get, you just need to sign up. And, they're on average probably only around $30/bottle.

For me it's Burgundy. I have had great producers fall very short, only to have the same wine phenomenal a few years later. I never know what I am in for from bottle to bottle.

At it's best though, worth the risks in my opinion.
