I have never even heard of the area where the grapes seems to originate, mokelumne river which is kind of close to Sacramento, I think. Appreciate all the feedback on the winery. Scooped up a 3L of the 2013 from Costco for like $100 (cant remember exactly).

No idea when I'll open that....but a total impulse purchase, much like the 3-packs of beef jerky they give samples of right by the checkout lines.

You'd dig it buddy. No disrespect to D&R or Sandlands as I love what both Hardy and Teagan do with the grape.....but this is the best domestic Mataro I've had this year. 2nd glass has evolved even more with a kinda sappy note that I'm enjoying. Really, really impressive.

Wow, awesome notes on what sounds like an amazing event! My biggest surprise....hearing the words 'pinot like' being used to describe the Biale wines. I've liked them in the past but they were always big, fruit forward zins and PS. Sounds like I should try a recent vintage. Thanks again for the notes!

Finally opened the 75 Harbor Winery Zinfandel Deaver Vineyard and it was even better than i had hoped. Seriously incredible wine and history in a glass! Check out the color in the second pic. Amazing!

Literally black as night. Like....crazy, glass staining black (pics don't lie). I know its PS....but still amazing how they can craft a wine this dark each year. Black and purple fruits with a very intriguing dusty texture. Tannins evident but this is still very approachable and absolutley delicious...
