Agree also that Tablas should be on your list, I'd also put in a plug for Adelaida which is just down the road. For something a little different and definitely small and family owned/run check out Ryan and Nicole at Paix Sur Terre for their Mourvedre and mourvedre blends.

This '08 Calypso syrah went perfectly with a grilled filet for Valentines Day. Some old world funk, ripe black cherries, fine grained tannins, balanced fruit with acid, just a real pleasure.

Brian, tx for the write up, agree 100% with your assessment. Loved every Bedrock white that I've tasted, so much so that the last couple orders have had at least 25% whites in them. Would really like to see the albarino make a comeback.

Brian, Paul but if you go to the Scherrer website you'll see that there are indeed three different cabs, however when you look at the Specifications for each one all of the fruit comes from the Scherrer Vineyard just different sections with different rootstock.

Got a mixed case of mostly whites (love the compagni and the Waidhofen) that also included some syrah (have to keep the CFO pleased) and like most others here, got a case of OVZ. If you all haven't been to their new tasting "house" put it on your must do list next time you're in the area.

Having just got back from our annual pilgrimage to Willamette Valley we have 4 to 5 cases coming from there. Add in the two cases of Bedrock I just finished ordering, the 2 cases of Scherrer zin futures and the 1/2 case of Carlisle, I have about 90 in my "pending deliveries" bin.

We've enjoyed several different Vernaccia from Montenidoli and a 2013 Monastero Suore Cistercensi Coenobium Lazio that was really nice, each of these in the mid $20 range.
