Re: Scarecrow allocation

If the prices keep escalating then I see this as a wine that will lose its luster. Though a very well made wine like Harlan, once it cannot be afforded by most or most will not want to pay the tariff, then I think the trend will be over. Re: Suggestions for wine cellar insurer

Chubb. Not cheap but worth it. My cooling unit at our AZ home failed in the dead of summer, and blew 110 degree air into the cellar. We didn’t have a huge amount of wine there, but it was an $85,000 claim paid with no questions. They valued that particular cellar at 45% over what CT estimated it’s ...

Re: Moving bottles from abroad

It's probably not helpful advice but unless there are truly unique or expensive bottles in your collection, I would sell everything at auction and use the money to buy wine on this side of the pond. Moving all that wine is probably not cost effective. Wine is fairly easy to source in the US. But it'...

I did enjoy most of the wines I tasted, but in particular:

Lynch-Bages
Pichon Lalande
Pichon Baron
Leoville Barton
Clinet
Smith Haut-Lafite Blanc

The choice of venue was terrible though. Tight squeeze and spread over a few very small areas.
Feels like an afterthought.

The Clos de la Baronne is owned by American investors, IIRC, and it produces a fatter, fleshier wine. Which Aubert Chardonnay are drinking well now

Hey gang,

I have been buying a lot of Aubert Chardonnay since the 2013 vintage and was wondering which vintage and vineyards are approachable today. I tried a sample of 13 and 14 and some of them where still somewhat closed (albeit delicious).
