Re: Sending bottles home from Napa

The main issue with that is lugging around a 13 bottle shopper on a road trip true, but consider: 1. you get your wine when you walk off the plane, eliminating the need to wait for a shipment, weather issues, Common Carrier mistakes, etc. 2. checked bag is only $25 on most airlines, sometimes less ...

Re: Strange New Wine Closure.....

I had a bottle of 2014 Oso Libre Estate Primitivo with this closure tonight. While the wine is still relatively young, it was outstanding. I agree that it is much more friendly to the corkscrew than other alternative cork closures. From my very limited review of their site, it appears the cork allow...

If so, could my previous pending request be approved? I'm looking to gain some understanding on the wine storage business for a project I am working on and collaborating with a LWS on.

My personal three pack.

Ardbeg Uigeadail.
Balvenie 17.
Aberlour 16.

If you could find a Bladnoch that is not molested by water or chill filtration with age on it, buy that before all else; especially if it's from a reputable independent bottler.

I disagree on the Peat Monster recommendations. If memory serves me correctly, Peat Monster has the highest PPM of peat of all scotch whisky. The Glenfiddich reference is what pushed me towards the Kilchoman. You may also consider the standard Caol Ila bottling. A touch peaty but much more iodine an...
