Re: DIY condo closet cellar build: pics + questions

Looks great 😀 Are you using a bottle sensor for temp control? That generally reduces cycling. Thanks! Not familiar with the workings of a bottle sensor. I think it’s currently just sensing air temp and cycling every time it hits 60. It slows down the cycling only b/c it takes the liquid longer to r...

You will realize a bigger cooling benefit by insulating all 4 walls and ceiling, leaving the floor as what provides the cooler temps. When I built my active cellar, the room was noticeably cooler than the rest of my basement when it was fully insulated and door shut (before the cooling unit was inst...

I’m starting to think this is vaporware. Far too many delays - shame too bc it looks really convenient for saving a bottle for a day or two. I could see saying that 6 months ago. But at this point, people are receiving them, and posting initial impressions online. It took a long time, but to me thi...

Closed cell insulation must be a certain thickness to be considered a vapor barrier. Of course, I forgot what thickness is needed since I used it in my own cellar - but that info should be readily available on the insulation spec sheets from the manufacturer. No one is worried about the health and environmental issues with sprayed foam insulation? Fairly certain that's only during installation and the first 12-24 hrs. Needs to be properly ventilated during this time and installers should wear proper protective gear. Otherwise I don't believe it has any ...

Also worth noting that it's not YOUR bank that eats the charge back, but the merchant's bank (who then attempts to get it back from the merchant).

Call your credit card company and start a charge back case. Typically, charge backs are only allowed within 60 days of purchase, but because this was a pre-arrival, you should still be good within 60 days of the expected delivery date. Do you have a receipt that shows it was pre-arrival? That will h...

There is a HUGE waiting list, so if you skip, you probably won't get axed, just will be offered less next time.
I don't know what the reality is, but I wouldn't make the assumption that skipping a release as a new list member and/or no communication with SQN would yield future offers.
