Bought on release, stored since then in my temperature controlled cellar, and completely forgotten about, until I found it rooting around in my cellar just now, years after having sold my other SQNs.

I, too, was curious about the IOTA. I tried emailing Prévost himself. When I didn't receive a reply after a few days, I tried Brad Baker, who reports: I don’t know all the details on the IOTA and have not tasted it, but it is a new Rosé as it is made as a blanc and then 2% red wine is added. Sorry about that. I was making a dumb Bedrock joke. They gave a special bottle a few years ago to their top 150 customers, which engendered a small amount of controversy here on WB.

Not much of a whiskey drinker, and so, I'm liberating this: one 750ml bottle of The Balvenie, single barrel malt scotch whisky, aged 25 years, drawn from a single cask (no. 13142), with an in cask date of 8.10.74 and a bottling date of 12.9.00. Tapped out right now for a variety of reasons. And so my most recent Bedrock order was decidedly modest. To honor (compensate?) for the occasion, I opened a 2013 Bedrock Old Vine Zinfandel. Anyone know how one determines the base vintage on the "base" bottles like Substance? I'm working from memory, but I don't think Selosse puts the base vintage on the label. Some houses hold on to magnums longer and disgorge them later than regular bottles. There's a carrying cost associated with that, too.
And there's a scarcity aspect to the pricing. Especially outside the big houses, magnum production is pretty small.
