Go south to the Cilento and you won't be disappointed. Positano and Amalfi are super-touristy. The best seafood I had in Amalfi was the cuoppo fritto misto.

Thread drift - Just got back from 10 days in the Berkshires suffering through the adverse effects of no BYO. You can't bring your own wine to a restaurant, so there is no incentive for the restaurant to exert any effort to have a good wine list. Yes, I know, the lists at Blantyre and The Inn on the...

Gordon's does a great job with their emails also. It's easy to stay on top of the latest offers.

If you're working downtown, go to Federal Wine on State St and introduce yourself to Len.

Also, go eat at Troquet and get friendly with Chris Campbell.

Re: Are vineyards and cannabis growers compatible?

I hope wine regions everywhere disallow growing of cannabis. It makes zero sense to be using land, water, and human resources that compete with high end grape growing. This is an arbitrary argument that could easily be used in reverse. In fact, I think there are probably far more cannabis consumers...

Alan,

The obvious answer here is to not use this blend. It doesn't seem to work for the level of doneness you prefer. I haven't checked the recipe of this blend, but get one with more meat and less fat.

I've met Gary several times while hanging with Adam Lee. The estate wines were always a bit over the top for me. I generally prefer the wines from people who source their fruit. I drink very little CA Pinot these days, and when I do it's generally Santa Barbara or Sonoma Coast producers.
