Agreed with Neal, I wish I had bought more wine in halves. Now 100% of my Bordeaux EP purchases are in halves. It’s even harder to find Burgundy in halves.

Decent selections for a Tuesday lunch.

‘99 Roederer Cristal - rich and creamy, just lacks a bit of details.
‘82 Ducru Beaucaillou - semi-shut at the moment, shy nose but excellent balance and length.
‘66 Beychevelle - wide open and delicious.

    I had the dish twice last month, once with ‘09 Pauillac de Latour and 2nd time with ‘62 Latour. Both were wonderful pairing, a very versatile dish.

    You should look for some ‘93 Lafleur, absolutely gorgeous last year, surprised WOTN in one of our tastings.

    I finished 4 cases of ‘93 LLC between ‘01 and ‘13, great during the period but was fading toward the end.

    ‘62 Latour - tasted more like a wine from 80s than 60s, vibrant and good balance, will last for years. Some of these old Bordeaux seem ageless, almost indestructible.

    ‘98 Jamet Côte Rotie opened over the weekend, doubt there are better wines in Northern Rhône for that vintage.
