Re: If you have offsite storage, how many bottles do you keep at home

I keep ~300 bottles at home in a large wine cabinet in my office, with ~25 bottles in an under counter kitchen fridge. No rationale as to that amount other than I don’t have to pay fees to store it offsite. The rest of my stuff is offsite or sitting at retailers waiting to ship (a little over 700 bo...

How long did you slow ox or decant?

I was disappointed in many their 2013s. Took hours to open up and even then most seemed thin and flat. This post makes me hopeful for the 14s.
PnP on this bottle. If i were to open another soon, would probably decant for an hour to let the funk settle down.

These wines sell for $200-300 a bottle in the secondary market. If you’re on the fence, this should push you to buy. I’ve never flipped a wine, but it’s sure fun to drink something that you paid a third of the market value for. And the wine is delicious.

It's a matter of perspective and goals. 1000 bottles doesn't seem like a huge amount if you are aging a good percentage of that, enjoy a fairly broad range of regions and grapes, and sometimes buy more than 1 or 2 of things you like. Consumption is also a factor. If you stopped buying right now, ho...
