Houses are so closed and "efficient" these days, it just goes to show you how much (or little) oxygen is in either environ. Get outside with your decanted wine and it will taste even more different. :-)

Besides the ones mentioned, I would add we had a great experience at Dr. Frank for one of their Sparkler food parings. Six different sparklers and a small bite with each, and also a small tour. I really enjoyed it...then you can go through the normal tasting room afterwards for free.

I have had a few Pisoni wines wiith about 10 yrs on them and they just did not flip my switch. Therefore, based on my limited $$ I get to spend on Pinot, I just don't purchase them and therefore rarely drink them.

Time of year also plays big in a decision to drink wine...coming home from work on a 105 degree day I am not really inclined to drink a huge tannic red, but in winter time it might make sense.

From my own tasting/consumption, I can recommend Cristom wines enough that I am in their wine club.
From my own tasting/consumption, I cannot recommend Chehalem and Penner-Ash. (YMMV)
I am okay with Stoller.
I have not tried the rest.

Oh and re: Alan's problem; if there's 48 hours between popping the cork and consuming the wine, I wouldn't worry about any extra decanting time - enough oxygen is introduced to the wine over the double decanting process. Also take into account how much it costs, and when you plan to drink it. If it's a case of $20 riesling which you plan to drink by the pool next summer, then I would go for it. If you bought some 2015 First Growth Bordeaux and you are shipping it out there, think twice.

I am drinking 1997, 2001, and 2004 now and they are all in a pretty good place. The '01 and '04 might not be at their peak yet. Good Brunello can definitely go 20+ yrs....

Reynvaan is my go to Rocks Syrah (Cayuse is a bit more thick and gloppy to me). MTR is a new derivative of Reynvaan which is new and seems to be very similar.
