I would say that I'm most disappointed in the sparsity of Ontogeny. I used to rely on that as my go to Bevan and save the other bottlings for special occasions.

Allocations were fairly anemic. I was also only offered 3 bottles. I decided to pass up on the pinot offering to save up for the Bordeaux and then was surprised to find that wines I had previously turned 2-3 bottles of I was offered 0-1 bottle. At the pricing level, I'm definitely not able to go dee...

I signed up for the club, but I didn't see an option to customize my shipment. Isn't that the big feature of the LF club?

John Thomas mailer?

Got a card in the mail last week. I've only had one of his wines, a 2006, and my first impression was that it was of cloying acid, almost like a Warhead candy. Over the next two days, there were more delicate fruit notes both on the nose and palate, but the acid was still quite prominent. Is this in...

I noticed that there was no Blue Label for 2010. I don't know anything about the wines. Though if you google them, the Gold Series seems to be coming at the Blue Label price range of $100. The Cabernet is going to be retailing for $200. Yikes!

Tom. Thanks for the tasting insight. I was more wondering if anyone on the mailing lists or wait list had actually gotten an email with an offer for the wine. I never signed up for the actual horsepower list since the website said I would hear about it being on the other two lists. So I didn't get t...

Will be interesting to see what people think about these wines. I signed up for the list, initially got an email saying that I would receive an allocation and then when allocation time came around got an email saying that there was no juice for me. Somewhat confusing, but I guess my credit card than...

RB is a great guy and so is his wife Vicotria. I love his Ontogeny and wish I could afford his cab bottlings as they are kind of outside my price range. The wines are a bit out of my price comfort zone, but I'll splurge on a couple. And I second the reminder to not forget Victoria. She organizes wh...

Both wines are quite tasty. At the younger end I think the Red Wine performs better. It is a little annoying that they require purchase of 6 packs. I feel like this is new, as of 3 weeks ago you could order single bottles of the 2007 Cab and Red Wine. They should at least offer at mixed 6 pack, with...

On the newer wines, I wish their was a way to get a 3-pack with one bottle of each (i.e. Foothills, In The Hills and the new Cab) to try out or a Vintner's Choice 3-pack That does sound like a good idea. Or at the very least, allow a bit of lag time between releasing one vintage and asking us to po...

Reynvaan Allocation

This is a good example of where the 3 pack minimums start to become oppressive. I can be a bit more forgiving when there are only 1-2 wines offered (aka Lillian, to stick with high end Syrah). But with Reynvaan, I'm a bit hesitant to commit to 3 bottles of wines that haven't proven themselves like t...
