Re: Aging champagnes/ buying drinking aged champagnes- help please

Trust your own experience. You have more than enough evidence that older champagne is not for you. “A couple of bottles out of over 100. Not good odds” I would advise you to focus on Champers that are more in your wheel house. It is easy to get hooked by the idea that all wine should be aged but if ...

Looking into my small cellar, it appears I stopped buying Hillsides a while back. All my Rhys are Bearwallow, Alpine, and Horseshoe. Still have over a mixed case and am reluctant to open as they get lower in numbers. Will miss ‘em when they are gone.

Is it me or is $150 a big ask for Rhys Hillsides. Seems not that long ago it was under $50 and I had to drop out at $75, tho I continued for a bit with Alesia bottles. I expect they will have not problem finding folks to pay the tariff, but where is the line when your early customer base gets left b...

On a different note, is this the result of all the excess grapes, lack of restaurant sales and or wineries on the brink? Or is this a sales idea that’s just now feasible? My first bottle of D’Yquem was a real disappointment. It was a 1998 and I had a ‘The Emperor has no Clothes’ reaction. What was the big deal?
