Re: Chicago and suburbs

Yes we all need to support our favorite restaurants, or they won't exist by the time we can enjoy them fully. I've been in Chicago just one weekend since February (usually there at least once/month). Had Cafe Marbella take-away and it was fantastic!

Re: Returning Bali Traveler

Leslie and I are traveling to Bali on Friday. I have already sent a note to Made and will try to book him for a few days. Is good wine readily available in restaurants? If not, do they allow BYOB with a corkage fee? And if so, where are the best places to buy wine in Tanjung Benoa or Ubud?

I have also had good experience with most wines (especially Spanish and Italian) from WTSO. But I'm not seeing the same bargains they had several years ago, so subsequently I'm buying very little from them now.

Can highly recommend El Barril de las Letras in Madrid. Excellent food and great wine list. They sell wine on premises and charge 7 Euros to open it in the restaurant. NV Ruinart was 68 (75) Euros. They also had 2006 Dom Perignon on the list for 118 (125). Decent selection of Spanish wines too - Mal...

Vinotheque's are unique because they use a thermometer inside a wine bottle to monitor the temperature, so the actual temperature of the wine is used instead of the air in the cooler.
