Re: The zenith of score inflation?
The top 22 wines in James Suckling's Top 100 Wines of 2020 are 100 pointers. There are more 100 pointers in the list but I didn't have the patience to go through the entire list. https://www.jamessuckling.com/wine-tasting-reports/top-100-wines-2020/ This isn’t score inflation. For overnight, Vac-u-Vin is ok but not as good as gas. I use this - put it in the bottle, recork and put it in the refrigerator. It will keep it tasting good for at least 4 days. www.amazon.com/Private-Preserve-Wine-Preservation-Spray/dp/B0000DCS18/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1QKWTUXQZFUWX&dchild=1&keyw...

A couple of years ago I stopped at Total Wines and did their 5 cent wine tasting. There were a few under $20 wines that Suckling had given 92 points to (maybe Amici wines were being featured). I've always found it interesting when people get their wines from their favorite mailing list and say they need to set the wines aside for a while so they lose their "baby fat". I never understood what that was supposed to mean, or why they wanted the wines to age. Many of the big Napa Ca...

I have been drinking zins for over 40 years. My experiences with zin is that they taste less like zin and more like claret or cabernet as they age..... I've been drinking zinfandel for 40 years. Other than Ridge, and possibly some Turley, Bedrocks and Carlisles, I would not age them for more than 5 years. It is a wine that's meant to be drunk young, while you wait for your cabernets and Bordeaux to age longer. "Zinfandel is about emotion, wher...
