You have a great list to start. Bfast at Matt's Big Breakfast is really close to Camelback Mountain and worth the (sometimes long) wait. In the same center is Delux, which has great burgers.

They did a good job of reaching out to loca restaurants when they expanded Terminal 4. If you are there I would recommend: La Grande Orange, Barrio Cafe, Humble Pie, 4 Peaks or Delux.

Little Miss BBQ is first rate, BTW, but not at Sky Harbor and an hour plus wait for lunch.

I seek out black cabs in London because they are always the most enjoyable and fastest way to get around. The fact that they can fit a family of 5 with luggage (albeit snugly) is a plus as well. But UberX drivers are hated by taxi drivers because they believe it's an unfair competition for us. I can second this comment. At GDN, you grab your Uber right around the corner from the taxi stand and use the same exit. You have to say no to both cabbies and unlicensed cabs across the street a bun...

After digging around on flyertalk, there are some folks taking this to the last decimal point and paying with the most advantageous currency at the time. They will use an online currency converter (like xe.com), find the greatest currency disparity and pay in that one.

It's also helpful (somewhat) on AirBnB. The USD/EUR conversion rate seems to be about 3.5% - 5% different there ($1.19 v $1.14/5 actual). Not sure that's worth it, unless you can pay in Euros without a transaction fee.

The airline's USD/EUR conversion rate was closer to $1.34, for comparison.
