These were great old-school, Napa Cabernet-based wines and they closed shop long ago. This came up with a buddy over the past weekend and I’ve forgotten where these grapes are turned into wine currently.

2009 Falstaff just fantastic domestic PN tonight, Explosive dark cherry tartness and decent length, nose a mix of earthen clay and sweet Spring air. Just a bravo effort at age twelve.

Lovely's 50/50 is really good in PDX but kinda chichi for me sometimes. Red Sauce is moving which breaks up the best west coast pizza block as they will no longer be neighbors with Pizza Jerk.

Had the 11 MB from 375 last night. Poured into three Zalto Universals for 2.5 hours to savor after dinner as Autumn had arrived. Ready to go, fully enjoyable if you can handle the chewy tannins.

One of my favorite No-PV vintages.

Charles was bright enough 7-8 years ago to cast admiring eyes towards my wife but not allow his vocal cords to engage.

I'll decant a 12 Cailloux at lunch today to go with dinner. Love having not to fret about wine and after a great 96 Baron last night it's good to go in another direction.

Had the 88 Devils Hill PS with Backroads Bob Summers in our house last weekend. Wine showed magnificently and was youthful with easily appreciated tannins.

The only 1.5Ls this year are for 2018 Cuvée Hervé (coming out before the holidays). We had so many lots to bottle this year that we would have needed an additional bottling day to tackle the 1.5Ls.
