Re: 2009 Roc de Cambes pricing

Uncorked a bottle last night and it was too juicy, inky still at the two hour mark. At 4-5 hours the wine softened and became lovely and more nuanced. I paid ~ $45/btl and look forward to what's left of the case.

We had the 92 Estate Merlot. Been standing up since delivery. Wine in magnificent shape and it really demonstrated the silky, softer aspects of the grape as we had some 97 Renaissance Cab Sav in other identical stems to compare with. Still some blue fruit that lived all these years, lots of eucalypt...

We all loved this wine tonight. Interesting nose of earth and a whiff of chemical or a medicine perhaps. Great, creamy mouthfeel and a red-fruited attack of considerable length. Strawberries, cranberries, cherries - they are all easily appreciated. Delicious +.

12 Papera over two nights was just glorious. I may drink more prestigious wines but none more enjoyable. Seamless and beautiful, full of fruit but not modern at all. A combination, better perhaps a marriage, of Carignane & Zinfandel; I just hope more of my 12 Bedrock SV wines show like this.
