In an effort to try and drink the wines I really ought to have tried before I get planted or burned I pulled the cork on the 13 Kirshenmann tonight. I wasn’t even into drinking wine today, I was a bit wined-out after these past two days. In all honesty, when I'm not at work I'm pulling corks. Eff th...

2014 L'Ecole No. 41 Estate Ferguson Vineyard

Eff me nekkid this is good. Right out of the bottle it’s blue fruit and subtle oak. It’s cellar temp so cool, but also nervy. No aged characteristics yet, good length on finish and not tannic at all. Makes me think of winter, that Robert Frost poem. Washington wine folks should clamor to this wine. ...

If the 2012 carignan is anything like the 2011 (open, juicy, not at all what I would call highly structured), I wouldn't worry about popping one now. Five years later it’s still rockin’ solid. Amazing freshness with plenty of tannin still. High delicious factor. 7269851E-1964-442F-BEC3-ADA09A0009FA...

We just tried the 2016 and I found the wine very enjoyable and classy. For a Wente clone this is very tame and balanced. There’s ripe fruit but minerals too, I didn’t think it was overly buttery but the sensitive might disagree.
