Dinesh, we have done a lot of Indian food paired with wine over the past year. Some reds have worked, some have not. Finishing up the Eloquence tonight, it's been open since Wednesday so it's become still. The wine really shows the top class quality. Pear, green apple, citrus, a honeyed edge and the finish of stone/slate.......so good. Love Marie-Courtin. For sure my Champagne of the year.

Mike, good on you for getting together with them. The Bastuba family gets on a plane every year and they come out here for the entire Falltacular weekend. It's a deep commitment from them that I admire and appreciate, so thanks for going to them for a change and sharing with them.

Claus, help me. Why did you post the Dethune BdB in context of the Crayeres? Just curious. Is the Dethune source for their BdB inside of or near Crayeres?

FWIW, the Marguet Crayeres is money. The bottle I had of the 2012 a few months ago was excellent.

Paul, part of it is practicality. I'm damn near 54, the wine was over 15% and my body just doesn't do multiple glasses of wine well anymore, especially during the week. It depends on the bottling. Since you bought a variety, i would say do the 17 SC and Falstaff first. See what you think. These for me are representative of Jamie's success in 17.

Oh Dave, that's gonna be out of my scope to answer. I have not had any red meat since 1983. So, I'd say go with your instinct and just pair it with steak. It's a terrific wine, a vintage for Palisades that excels each time I have drank one.
