Re: Upcoming Outpost release - Winemaker question

Yes these are definitely TRB wines. Part of the deal when the winery was sold last year, is that he stays on as winemaker for 3 years. Perhaps at some point they extend it if they are wise.

Laugh all you wish somebody will buy it. I do love the name and the marketing. I was racking my brain to recall why it sounds familiar. It's Gigantor the Space age Robot cartoon from the 60s that it evokes. Perhaps the spelling used is to avoid copyright infringement.

Re: Anyone opening good wine for the 4th, or is it a beer day ?

Granted the Wagyu beef is from Japanese Cattle. but aren't they the same breed, originally brought over, but raised and bred here in our country ? Or does Bryan get the beef imported from Japan ? That would surprise me. Even if the Cattle originally came from overseas, I consider it American if they...

Re: Anyone opening good wine for the 4th, or is it a beer day ?

FWIW I prefer lighter, zippier reds with wagyu to cut through the fat Tonight we're doing old white burgundy and chartreuse slushies [cheers.gif] Alan, agreed the Syrah might be too big and steal the show. I think as there are three of us sharing and 2 btls might not suffice, I will bring the VHR a...

Anyone opening good wine for the 4th, or is it a beer day ?

As most everyone is celebrating in some fashion, I am curious if folks are opening up any interesting wines ? If I was attending a party outside, would be likely enjoying some ice cold beers, however we will be doing dinner tonight at my family's house and everyone likes wine. so of course my job is...

Re: Looking to trade for 2014 William & Mary Cabernet

I suspect the 2014 might be a tough one to find someone able to part with 6 btls esp considering a lot of folks like me bought 6 but have already drank 3 or 4, they are so good. I would recommend contacting Will as perhaps he held back some btls of the 14 for his library. If you decide to get the 20...

Re: A huge victory for Ct wine consumers. Amazed it finally is happening.

Can retailers ship out tho from CT? Good question Charlie I have read the bill over several times and it does not address shipping OUT of the state. I am certainly no attorney so I can't answer the question, but my opinion would be that IF the state that you wanted to ship to is one of the 14 other...

A huge victory for Ct wine consumers. SB-647 Shipping legaliized ! YES !

After several years of going through the legislature it appears that Ct is about to become the 15th state where it is legal to ship into from out of state retailers, auction houses, wine clubs. etc. Especially considering that our prices and selection were not always the best, this is huge. I have b...

Alan the pressure is off. The Krug was one of the first to sell. In a half dozen years it this price I suspect will seem like a bargain if you look at what great vintages from the 80 s go for. Luckily I am saving 3 of the 96s a few more years.
