TN: 2016 Trump Cabernet Sauvignon

So I was gifted a bottle from my cousin who likes Trump a lot. I do not know the price, so that will not be involved. The wine is drinkable, it has notes of black currant, and cherry, but it also has a green note that overwhelms anything that is good about it. I can drink it, but not recommend it, u...

Can't tell the difference between the Schraders

I have a hard time differentiating between any Schraders. RBS, CCS, ToKalon, LPV etc, they all taste the same to me. I love them all, but I just cannot tell one from another, and this goes for Sparky too. This happens with other wines. I can't tell a Pride Merlot from a Pride Cabernet. Guess not ref...

Just discovered Maracame Anejo - if you can find it, get it. By far the smoothest tequila I've enjoyed, full of cinnamon and creme brûlée - this is absolutely fantastic stuff in every way. $55-60 is a steal for juice of this quality. Thanks for the tip, Todd. Picked up a couple for $120 all inclusi...

TN: 2012 Schrader LPV

We had this at Fleming's with a nice steak. The wine is excellent as all the other Schraders from that vintage. A big wine for sure, but enough tannins and acid to live up to the richness of a nice fat rib eye steak. Lots of dark fruit, and everything is balanced. But for the life of me, I just cann...

Re: The Bourbon Thread

Has anyone tried the Old Forester 1910? I like it. Not as strong (harsh) as the 1920, with a little sweetness on the finish. Good substitute for Blanton's. I don't find the 1920 harsh at all; it seems smooth to me. By the way, I picked up a bottle of the 1920 at the local Total Wine yesterday, and ...

I am looking at about $1000 to go First rather than Business on BA. Normally the difference may be 5k or so, and then there is no thinking. Both classes have lie flat, and that is the main reason for business rather than economy.

For some reason I find more and more Champagnes that taste oxidized to me. Yet some of my friends describe that taste as marzipan, and desirable. I really find it unpleasant, so I call it oxidized.
