Re: SF Bay Area /Peninsula OL Oct 21 - Donato

Unless they said we had to make that choice, I don't see a need to. I wasn't there for the offline with the set menu, but folks were less than happy about the cost. My vote is a la carte. I still haven't heard back from Juan via email so I'm going to call.

They do, but no longer have a brick and mortar store. Didn't know there were issues with cooking the wines. I always picked up there. Ambient temperature in Pier 19 was fine.

Re: Insulated 2-3 bottle wine bags

I got the Vina bag that Alan suggested, but the 2 bottle one. Reason being that the 3 bottle one is 11.5 inches tall, 2 bottle is 13 inches. Standard Riesling bottles are 13 inches tall.

Insulated 2-3 bottle wine bags

Any brand recommendations? I don't need extras included like wine glasses, picnic supplies, etc. If a small blue ice cube can be inserted into the bag, that would be a real plus. I see a bunch on Amazon in the $teens-40 range.

Thanks! [cheers.gif]

German Riesling makes up about 15% of my cellar (140 bottles). I just don't drink it as often as I used to. 88 bottles are from 2005 and prior, and only 7 are 2010 and younger. About the only ones that might sell at a decent price to a hard-core collector are from Daniel Vollenweider. All those are ...

What traditional style Bordeaux is in the $30-50 range? I thoroughly dislike modern style Cab/Cab blends no matter where they’re from. Through friends, I can get 2016 Ridge Estate Cab for $45.50 (30% discount). For me, that’s the gold standard in CA. What Bordeaux is in that class?
