No longer for sale. Hopefully this won't break forum rules, if it does, I'm sorry please delete, but the collection will be up on winebid this week.

Whole collection for sale

Thanks for the offers, I realize selling the whole lot, or even most of it to one person is a longshot, but it will be too hectic to deal with parting it out and shipping all over. I'll let it sit on here a week or two and then drive the lot to winebid in Napa.

Thoughts about online wine purchasing?

I do 90% of my purchasing online, though honestly it is mainly through mailing lists. The problem with local purchasing is that you are extremely limited by the inventory they stock. Only problem I have with online is that I can't receive shipments in the summer and sometimes winter if it is really ...

Parma at Buffalo and Washington allows BYOB, can't remember the cost but I think it was reasonable, $10-$15. Really good local Italian spot.

I just wish they'd inform you on how long it will be when you take delivery, I ordered Bordeaux in December 2010 and I knew it would take a while, but I'm still waiting and that's a little crazy.

Whole collection for sale

It's a little hard to read since I just copy and pasted from excel. I'll entertain offers, but $20k is the reserve, at auction you'd be paying buyer's premium + shipping, retail you'd have sales tax+shipping. I'm a reasonable guy but I have a general idea of what I'd net from auction, so the offer h...

Whole collection for sale

Hi everyone, I have approximately 190 bottles that I am considering selling, I'd like to sell it as a whole, if not I will probably take it to winebid. The collection was valued(by winebid) at between $18k and $25k, with a total reserve of $20k. It is heavy on Paso wines and contains a few cults fro...

Re: URGENT WARNING--RUDY KURNIAWAN IS TRYING TO AUCTION MORE WINES

I'd still like to see more responsibility taken by Spectrum in all of this, especially after all the concerns were raised early, and they deliberately lied about the real situation. They are equally at fault here, and should really have either withdrawn all the items or cancelled the sale. Obviousl...

Re: URGENT WARNING--RUDY KURNIAWAN IS TRYING TO AUCTION MORE WINES

Cornwell claims that he was told by somebody at Spectrum that Kurniawan was behind some of the lots, and that a longtime associate of Kurniawan's was the consignor. Asked if that was so, Boland replied, “I think I’d rather not comment except to say that [Kurniawan] is not a consignor.” Kurniawan di...

I just suppose that he must be neck-deep into this by now, and am wondering what his thoughts are. Also wondering if this hasn't stepped into the legal realm with attorneys' demands flying about.

Re: URGENT WARNING--RUDY KURNIAWAN IS TRYING TO AUCTION MORE WINES

Just to reiterate the facts from my phone conversation with Don. Rudy is not a consignor in this auction and has not been a consignor with Spectrum since we have started. The London auction is made up of many consignors not just a single consignment and includes wines from all over the world. All t...

Re: URGENT WARNING--RUDY KURNIAWAN IS TRYING TO AUCTION MORE WINES

Removing a few suspect lots is unacceptable. All they have done now is admit that there are fraudulent bottles from a consignor, but have only removed the obvious examples. Surely, there are some less obvious examples. They must remove all of the lots by the consignor that provided the suspicious lo...

If these were legit wines, wouldn't the actual consignor step forward? He is trying to get top dollar for the wine I imagine, why not dispel the ugly rumors?
