Re: Cold calls from wineries?

I have received cold calls from wineries that I have never purchased from nor have I signed up to purchase. Some of these people are buying other people's mailing lists. I consider this predatory and would never buy from someone who cold called me.

Re: Joseph Phelps...thoughts?

They're not what they used to be, in my opinion. That is not to say that their wines are not good but they are not as good or special as they once were and they're prices are significantly inflated. I used to buy at least some bottles of Insignia every year but I stopped at 2007. I've had most of th...

Thanks for the note. I'll hold on a while longer. I've never had a Neufeld so I'm curious. I'm curious to know if anyone has popped either of the JB Neufeld Cabs. I'm wondering if I should let them sleep or try one soon? I am letting mine sleep for at least another year or two. I recently opened the...

Based on your like of Mount Eden I'd say Freemark Abbey. It's above $30 but occasionally I can find a sale and a coupon that will get me into the $30 range.

I think you buy futures when you're confident that you're buying wines that you're going to enjoy. I've purchased futures from Loring for a few years now. I've never had a bottle I didn't enjoy and at $24.99 per bottle in a mixed case, I think they're a great value.

I did tastings, Barolo, Barbaresco, Valpolicella etc. I eventually made it down past Tuscany to Campagnia and Aglianico. I am by no means an expert on Italia...
