Re: The Green Meanies In 04 White Burgs?

I would like to know who coined this term "Green Meanies". I have been in the wine business for a decade now and I have never heard it before until this thread. I think it is not a very accurate descriptor, it can be used for various characteristics or faults in a wine. Just because a wine is green ...

Re: The Green Meanies In 04 White Burgs?

I just had the 2004 Leflaive Les Pucelles last week and it had no GMs to it.

As far as the reds go....if anyone wants to sell me their Dujacs, especially Bonnes Mares I would love to agree with you.

Re: La Paulee 2011 NYC

I liked everything except for the corkage fee I was charged at Collichio and Sons at the after party!

Re: I'm new to NYC, Let's Drink some Lumber

I like the idea of blind tasting, whether it be themed or not. I like double blind free for all's. As far as the date, I am thing about a week from wednesday or thursady but I will need to hammer that down the night off with work.

Re: I'm new to NYC, Let's Drink some Lumber

It sounds like a Monday is the best choice. I am yet to have visited Apiary but it sounds like the place to be. I did visit Terroir with a friend from the board and had a great time. I also have a couple friends that own Sorella in the LES. It could be a good option to take over the entire back room...

Re: Restaurant Recommendations

I know all the hype about LOS in Vegas but I never hear mention of Lemongrassat the ARIA. It is the fanciest Thai food I have ever eaten and some of the best. I am soon to go and try the New York version of LOS but i am waiting a bit until they hit full stride.

Re: I'm new to NYC, Let's Drink some Lumber

It's great to see all the interest already. So that we can begin to try and pencil in a time and place lets try and look at the 3rd week in Feb. Any suggestions for a theme would be appreciated. I am a lover of all things French and German. I would be into anything burg, rhone, bord, alsace, rieslin...

Re: Wine 101 Feature: Decanter cleaning suggestions

I too love the Proxy Cab and citric method. I often just do a hot water rinse and try to do the "oxy cleaning" every month at least. I hate stained decanters!!!

I'm new to NYC, Let's Drink some Lumber

About a month and a half ago I moved to NYC and it has been quite the snowy experience so far for a California boy. I have been an Ebob boardmember for 5 years and I think I am one of the last few to make the move to Berserkers. I love to pull corks on great bottles of wine. So far I only have a cas...
