Re: Beta release coming...

Thanks to this board I was made aware of Ketan's efforts and his Beta Wines. I ended up picking up 3 of each wine before he sold out. The wines arrived yesterday. Question for those more familiar with the project: The labels appear to be packaging tape (my shipper was sealed with what looked to be ...

Re: Remedies for Smoke Taint?

Not sure why, but post-ferment lab samples of taint from Cab on the floor are showing no more than you get in any other vintage. Not just for me, but everywhere and everyone I know. Cab seems to have less than Zin and other varietals. Also, press wine shows no difference than free run. None of this...

Re: Bedrock Save the Date Winter 2020 Release

Excited that I scored an Oakville Farmhouse CS in addition to my order of CA SY, BN CH and Monte Rosso ZN. Despite being from Oakville “the Farmhouse is a 1930s-planted field-blend of Negrette, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Mondeuse, Carignan, Chenin Blanc, Colombard and more.” No Cab Sauv, really speak...

The OVZ and the CA SY have become go-to quaffable weeknight wines in our household. Really nice QPR.

Re: Justin Winery

So here is a question. Justin was one of the first wineries I really joined and their club does run between $20-60. Since I have joined Carlisle, Herman Story, Bedrock, and Turtle Rock. If I were to drop Justin, what would be a good addition that fits roughly that price range/blended average? Id le...

Re: Remedies for Smoke Taint?

Regarding free run vs. press, once you've been on skins in tank for any length of time you basically have a slurry. I'm not all that surprised that we're not seeing wildly differing results between the two. I heard about some roses being badly tainted. That simply can't be. All the reports lately c...

Re: Winemakers/Cellar Rats: Is there a way to create one mixing tank by using multiple smaller tanks?

Moved into my own space now, but it's a very small facility and space is a premium, so have a question for the professionals. Problem: I need to have a blending tank for bottling and homogenizing purposes. Probably around 1100-1200gal capacity. But then I found these square and stackable Stainless ...

Re: Justin Winery

Haven't bought since 07 Iso reserve I always thought their quality through the mid 00's was good. I was especially a fan of their regular CS bottling for what was always around $25-$30 back when I was a buyer in the mid to late 00's. Haven't had any of their wine in years but my perception is there...
