Based on how I do purchase zin, I would go with a mix of Carlisle and Bedrock (~ $300 each), and spread the last $400 among Turley, Bucklin, and Limerick Lane.

I really like Fuligni, Il Poggione, and Uccelliera.

One riserva I have have really enjoyed is Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona‘s Brunello di Montalcino Riserva “Santa Caterina D'Oro” Vigna di Pianrosso. Long name, I know, but the few bottles I’ve had have been excellent.

Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier runs about $12 and is very easy going and enjoyable without being bland. I haven’t bought any yet this year, but I usually buy several bottles each summer and it is a consistently solid wine.

I’m going to open a 2013 Carlisle Limerick Lane Zin. In the last three weeks, we’ve had the 2013 Bedrock Limerick Lane Zin, the 2013 Limerick Lane Estate Zin, and the 2013 Limerick Lane 1910 Zin. I’m curious to see how the Carlisle version compares to the other three.

I haven’t had that specific wine, but have had many of Mike Smith’s 2010 cabs, including from Carter, and they have been consistently fantastic. I hope your bottle shows just as well. Happy anniversary.
