Haven’t had the ‘11 Monte Rosso, but I’m feeling that way about the ‘11 Papera. I think it’s just starting to get too soft and should be drunk up.

Agree on both the Chianti (which is terrific and a decent value) and the Percarlo (which is pricier but still not super expensive).

For classic East L.A. style Mexican, La Luna in Rutherford Josh Mitchell’s Heritage in Calistoga is fantastic. For deli, Sunshine, Dean and DeLuca and Oakville Grocery are all good. I didn’t go deep into 2011, but have had ~15 different Napa cabs – from a mix of valley floor and hillslide/mountain vineyards - from that vintage. For those with colder passive cellars, how much do you worry about low humidity in the winter? I assume it gets pretty dry in those temps. Do you run a humidifier, or not worry about it?

2013 Hartford ‘Old Vine Zinfandel’ - Russian River Valley This wine has improved markedly in the year and a half since I last had it. Mentioned upstream, Selvapiana’s Chianti Rufina is an excellent wine for $17 locally. I’ve gone through a bunch of the 2015 vintage over the last year and have a few more in the cellar before moving on to the 2016.

2011 Lamborn Cabernet Sauvignon (Howell Mtn, Napa) 3B33A1EC-B758-4A28-9A5D-0B7E58B6B81D.jpeg Brought back a great memory of tasting this vintage with Mike Lamborn on the porch at his house. A terrific fellow, and an excellent wine. Give it 2+ hrs of air to let it open up fully, or continue to hold.

Sounds fantastic, Brian, and much more appealing than a bottle I had a year and a half ago. I think the ‘13s have taken a bit longer to come around, at least to my liking. I’m happy to have another to check in on at some point and hope it shows like yours.

Haven’t had anything other than his ‘Esperance’, but that’s a very tasty CdR blend and a solid value for $25. Don’t see it around very much, though.

2010 Myriad Cellars ‘Three Twins Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon
