If a wine critic with whom my palate aligns pans a particular vintage from a winery, that’s helpful information to me as a consumer. If the winery finds that intolerable and cuts off access to the critic in future years, I probably wouldn't have much interest in continuing to purchase their wines. I...

I wonder how they determine which route a shipment will take. My dad shipped had his last WineBid shipment out on Thursday, headed to me in upstate NY via FedEx Ground. So far, it’s gone from northern CA to AZ to TX.

Had the ‘07 in January with a 3+ hr decant. Definitely a more forward vintage for Tuscany and the wine was really in a great place, standing out among some very good competition.

Surprised to hear the ‘15 Black Cat is ready. I wouldn’t thought a few more years might be in order. Good to know.

I agree with you, Alex, about the fine suspended sediment that creates a haze. I often stand those bottles up for a month before opening. They don’t clear up in just a few days.

I used to see their Rosso around here from time to time but it’s been a few vintages now, since I’ve seen one. Your description of “more finished and refined than contrived” fits my previous experience. Certainly enjoyable wine.

Just to summarize, Adam: 1. People with money are bad and should go away. 2. Consulting winemakers are bad and should also go away. 3. People who don’t have money or hire consultants are better. 4. The wine made by folks in #3 might not be to one’s liking, but at least they care. Did I miss anything?
