Re: Essential Books on Burgundy?

Glad to see my friend Charles Curtis' book here. I have most of these books. As an aside, as dated as the book is at this point, I still love Matt Kramer's "Making Sense of Burgundy". That book is fun to read. Great list Nowell. I like the additions too especially Howards. The best resource book on...

Re: DIAM & avoiding oxidised white burgundy

Jim, we have our corks screened for TCA also and the incidence of TCA has been near zero. Small sample size, but that has been my experience. They are pricey as hell. I think the ones we are buying are in the $1.25/cork range. Sucks when that bill comes in. For perspective for folks on the outside ...

Thank you for the article Bill. Evaluating a full switch to DIAM also and its looking eminent. Not to thread drift to far, but a consideration for us is not just the DIAM side...I think you also have to look at the quality of cork now available. I simply do not think the cork is anything near the qu...

20% off Domaine Glennon WV Pinot Noir and Free Shipping

Apologies for being late, Marcus tipped me off to this thread. For the next week we would like to offer 20% off our 2017 WV Pinot Noir (regularly $35) and free shipping to all Berserkers. A little complicated but you will have to enter code "BERSERKER" for 20% off and "FSHIPPING" for free shipping (...

Marcus pointed me to this thread and it is pretty eye opening to see the replies. Big offender here...we use wax. Like Adam it was a major part of our design. The wax comes off cleanly (lots of testing), if you just pretend its not there when you open. IMO some of the newer more pliable waxes are ea...

This is a tough one, its harder to generalize here. It really depends on the wine, vintage, and individuals definition of big and bold. 1. Krug - to me its just that good
2. Dom Perignon - what they do at the volume is simply amazing
3. Selosse - most unique award
4. Ruinart - IMO most under rated house
5. C. Bouchard - points for early low dosage that is well made

Haven't had enough Salon to put them in the running.

Expect ~60% of the live weight, however the smaller the pig the lower the % of meat. So after that it depends if it is 30 or 40 and how hungry your guests are.
