Rebuild Wine Country Announces Summer Symphony Benefit Concert

Volunteer organization teams up with the San Francisco Symphony

for benefit concert aiding community reconstruction efforts

Santa Rosa, Calif., July 9, 2019 – Rebuild Wine Country (https://www.rebuildwinecountry.org/), a volunteer effort that aims to raise five million dollars for Northern California Habitat for Humanity affiliates, is thrilled to announce the Summer Symphony Benefit Concert, a celebration of music and wine featuring a beautiful string quartet with members of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (https://www.sfsymphony.org/), sponsored by the Eastman School of Music (https://www.esm.rochester.edu/). The event, taking place at the Sonoma Country Day School (4400 Day School Place, Santa Rosa, CA) on August 3rd at 7 p.m., will include a wine reception featuring celebrated Sonoma and Napa Valley wines paired with creative plates highlighting summer bounty from local farm partners. Rebuild has currently raised over 1 million dollars for Northern California Habitat for Humanity.

Founded by Senses Wines in partnership with local Habitat for Humanity chapters and spearheaded by volunteer wine industry professionals, Rebuild Wine Country has been working to build, repair and rebuild homes in Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Lake and Mendocino counties affected by the 2017 wildfires. One hundred percent of funds raised from the Summer Symphony concert will go directly to reconstruction efforts and will benefit those most in need within these communities.

“We are committed to helping solve the ongoing housing crisis in the North Bay,” comments Christopher Strieter, Founder of Rebuild Wine Country and Senses Wines. “Next month, families will move into our wildfire cottages, temporary rental housing for fire survivors. Additionally, the Habitat Center in Sonoma County, which launched on June 12, 2019,  will turn our dream of building pre-fabricated homes into a reality by providing a space to train builders and assemble panels for homes. With the community’s support, we can make an even greater impact.”

Before the music begins, attendees are invited to enjoy wine and bites starting at 6 p.m outside the Jackson Theater at the Sonoma Country Day School. Wine partners include Aperture Cellars, Carlisle, CIRQ Estate, Flaunt Wine, Geodesy, Hartford Court, Senses and Verite. Culinary partners include Farmhouse Inn and other local restaurants.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Rebuild Wine Country Summer Symphony,” notes founder and winemaker at Aperture Cellars, Jesse Katz. “It’s hard to believe it has been almost two years since the 2017 wildfires. It is important to continue supporting our neighbors and an event like this is a great way to bring together our incredible community.” Katz also serves on the board of the Rebuild North Bay Foundation.
