Erdäpfelgulasch

Ingredients

700g potatoes waxy or floury, cubed roughly

400g onions, chopped

300g Cabanossi or Debreziner sausage

1 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika

1 tsp hot Hungarian paprika

1 tsp caraway seeds

1 tsp dried marjoram

1 tbsp vinegar

1 tbsp tomato paste

sour cream

sunflower oil or lard

salt

hot water

 

Preparation

1.Heat a good amount of oil or lard on low heat in a casserole and cook onions for 15-20min

 

2. Then add parika, vinegar, tomato paste, caraway seeds, dried marjoram and good amount of salt. Let the spices roast for 2min on low heat. Be careful, spices need low heat.

 

3. Add 1 glass hot water and let it cook for 10min on low heat

 

4. After 10min add cubed potatoes and also add hot water until potatoes are almost covered. Cook for 30min-40min with lid on low heat. Maybe add some extra salt.

 

5.  Add sausage pieces 5 or 10min before serving and heat it

 

6. Put 1 tsp sour cream on top.  ENJOY
