Winter Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

800g tin of plum tomatoes

100g butter

1 onion, peeled+cut in half

pinch of salt

 

Preparation

1. Put tomatoes, halved onion, butter and a pinch of salt in a sauteuse. Let it simmer for 45min without lid.

 

2. After 45min remove the onion.  Serve with the pasta of your choice.  Classic would be Gnocchi.
