Did anybody get the Wine Library email about this?
It looks like Gary V. is setting up a site to compete with WTSO!
They will sell a different wine every day..... sound familiar.

It goes live on October 6th. Hmmmm. [berserker.gif]

The midnight thing makes it useless for me. I'll be in bed when the email comes out. People on the west coast will get it at 9:00. If the deal is that good, the wine will be gone by the time I see it in the morning.

My wife likes to go to bed early. I don't even get to stay up for Leno, let alone Conan.

Works for me. $23.33 bucks for Argiano Solengo with free shipping for 3+ bottles? Crazy stuff, bravo!

I took the bait. The last bottle of Argiano I bought was $88!!

Even a light vintage with a 90 rating is worth twenty bucks!

I like it so far.

Seems like very positive feedback here so far, not so much on the "other board". Curious about if there are any anti-opinions over here.

Great price on a very over priced wine.

Ian,

Have you tasted 2003 Solengo?

I lost a lot respect for Argiano when they bottled the AWFUL 2002 Solengo.

I did, and I think it's typical of the house, and vintage for that matter. Big a** wine for sure, not for the faint of heart.

As with WTSO, we never know how much "SOLD OUT" means that they sold. However, I am sure it was a decent quantity, unlike WTSO.

Wow, killer price on that Barolo. I can only hope for my wallet's sake that this isn't becoming Cinderella Vino Italiano...

Out of curiosity, I assume these products are distributor closeout items? Not a negative in any way, just wondering [tease.gif]

No offense intended, Gary, but I have to ask. Is this offer not actually targeted at your core audience, but more folks like the geeks like us? It seems to me that your core customer base is not exactly a traditionally styled, pricey Barolo crowd.

Obviously you sell tons of Bordeaux, and likely Burgundy, and Barolo (among everything else). Anyway, I LOVE this deal - I'm quite excited about it and picked up 2 bottles (wish I could have picked up more) - and I'm happy to see you putting something like this out there, and coming here because you knew we'd be fans of it.

i told Gary putting serious 00 Barolo in front of me is like selling crack to schoolkids, he should be ashamed.

I discovered recently that WL (and now Cinderella) can no longer ship to us in Georgia.
Certainly not WL's fault - my last couple of attempted online orders with various stores/wineries hit snags due to Ga shipping laws.

Does anyone in Ga. have experience setting up an account with the Alabama ABC stores for receiving and storing deliveries?

Gary, you are the devil. OK, extrapolating from yesterday and today I am going to be spending $100 per day on Cinderellawine. Let's see, that comes to $36,500 per year, right?

I had better look up the address of the local poor-house...

Good wine, good price...the Spanish market is drying up, as predicted.

If 2005s are selling for half price, how will 2006, 2007 and 2008 sell? With worse Jay Miller scores? I think not.
