Your OLDEST bottles? Mine are these:

Impressive! neener

Wow, a 1760 Madeira ! Pre-phylloxera.

Very cool

Off the top of my head, pre-1950 I have a few bottles of Madeira (all 20th century though), a few bottles of 1947 and 1949 Bourdy Chateau Chalon, two or three bottles of Toro Albala PX from the 1940s, and a 1945 Maury. I think I then jump to a 1952 Williams & Humbert Oloroso.

Not much in the way of older stuff. Drank it all…

Pre-phylloxera? That’s pre Declaration of Independence. Pre French Revolution. Pre Catherine the Great monarchy in Russia.

Chateau Rieussec, Sauternes 1981

Oldest ever cellar occupant: an 1896 Madeira from the Leacock Collection.

Justin’s got me beat,

1945 Huet Vouvray Le Haut Lieu Moelleux

1928 Quien Sauternes. “Q” in script on the label, which fell off about 10 years ago.

1795 Barbeito Terrantez is one of the very greatest wines to ever pass my lips. On the life list, for sure.

Currently, my oldest wine is a couple of bottles of 1850 D’Oliveiras Verdelho Family Reserve bottled in the 1970’s.

1936 Rivesaltes
1956 Rinaldi Barolo

Pics please!

He did better than me: 2003 Beaucastel CdP

1934 Lafite
1945 Haut Brion
1953 D Yquem
1959 Lynch Bages

Oldest remaining 1954 Bual

Oldest consumed 1834 Madeira.

About 25 years ago I tried to convince some friends to purchase and share a bottle of the 1795. IIRC it was $800. No luck. $800 was a lot of money back then when I was saving up to buy a house.

This wine is out of this world! Had it once in 1998, nothing even come close since then. Still hoping '89, '09 or '10 will rival it one day.
