Stylistically, these wines seem to bear no resemblance to the Hermitage, which I found to be an incredible disappointment.

As much as it is impossible to craft a “Richebourg” from a parcel in Chassagne-Montrachet - it´s not possible to make something like Hermitage from vineyards in St.Joseph (sc or not … ). And Chave has now some of the best parcels in St.J.

Agree, the best bottles of Chave’s St. Joseph that I’ve had did not remind me of their Hermitage but they were nice wines in their own right.
