It depends. Generally not, but certain stores will do it, and it might depend on whether or not they know you.

So, I took it back.
It took 3 levels of Coscto employees and an interview about why I brought back an empty bottle, but they credited my account!
I didn’t exchange for a new bottle, because the stock they have on hand is the same batch I purchased from.
I can understand their dubiousness, but they were over-all quite nice about it.
Happy ending.

Although do try another bottle, 2006 Dom is some killer bubbles.
Perfect. Good work Anton and good for Costco to honor a flawed wine.
