Montreal restaurants?

It’s my last night in Montreal. We had great meals at Nora Gray, Lawrence (for lunch), and Laloux. Very good wine lists at all three restaurants, with an emphasis on “natural” wines. Europea was a bit disappointing for the $$$. It felt like an imitation of better restaurants I’ve been to. Portus Calles was the only outright dud - overcooked, under seasoned seafood.

St. Viateur and Schwartz’s Deli lived up to the hype.

I was also very pleased with it when I visited in January.

Schwartz’s is a must.

We go frequently to Montreal, we are cirque du Soleil freaks and for Quebec cuisine I would recommend Manitoba and Maison Publique. For a fine dining experience with local chefs I recommend Toqué! and Le Club Chasse & Peche. For fine dining with international chefs Maison Boulud, Tapas24 and the new restaurant to be opened by Joel Robuchon in the Casino. For more casual food Le Serpent and Graziella are my picks.
