Sorry I’m late.
For future visitors, a drive out to St Helena to Shrimp Shack is a ritual.
We spent a few nights in Charleston at the city marina on the outside of the mega dock/bouncy house. The whole town is busy. The bbq at Lewis’ was very delicious, but I’m just not made to wait over an hour in line and as mentioned above resos are key.
Leon’s was terrific too, but in all Charleston is not my vibe. Here in Georgetown now where folks are friendly. They are working hard to bring people here.
Sorry to hear about the wait at Lewis BBQ. I’ve probably waited in line just on the outside of the building, so 30 minutes give or take at the most. I’m a little late, but for others considering Lewis BBQ, a limited menu is available direct from the bar area and food can be ordered online and picked up within 30 to 60 minutes from the side to avoid any long waits. They usually have a decent tap list at the bar.
